As I sat one day, this idea came to me… I am NOT the person I want to be (we’ve all probably been there), but if the “me” that I know myself as is not determined by my desires, then what determines “Who I am?!?” Thankfully, the answer came immediately.
I am NOT me.
I am not the “me” I know myself to be. This guy’s perception of himself and the way he behaves is often disillusion. Impacted by my “Confirmation Bias” (Post for next week I promise!)
I am clearly NOT the “Me” I always want to be. It happens so often, I have often come to a place where I believe I will NEVER be that “Me” (Go back the the post on “Resignation”).
I am not even the Me that others think of me as (although this plays a more critical role than we give others credit for [Post in two weeks about that!]).
Finally, I am not even the Me that is the culmination of my insight, the perception of my self (now or future) and the experience other have when they encounter me (even for the first time).
Who I am is and can only be determined by My Creator.
I mean, have you ever come across something that you are clear was designed with an obvious purpose in mind and you just can’t figure out what that purpose must be!?!? Well… you could spend a lot of time testing out your theories on “how” it should be used, when, where, etc., but wouldn’t it just be easier to ASK THE CREATOR?! Well, we can and it’s just that simple.
‘But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness,
and all these things will be added to you.’ Matthew 6:33
Rest easy… He’s got a Plan for your life and it is Glorious! Filled with Joy! Hang in there kid… we’re in this together.
