Robots, Scientists, and Engineers unite was my motto, part robot, part scientist, all humanist. Certain. Confident.
Then, I fell off a mountain. I should have died. But I survived.
Lying there, broken, staring at the sky, my certainty crumbled. The world felt bigger, more mysterious. Doubt crept in. Could there be more?
That fall became a spiritual awakening. I confronted my mortality, the limits of my understanding. In that vulnerability, I found faith.
A belief in a God who loves us.. Loves me, even when I’m lost. Some of you may be where I was, heck, still am sometimes– questioning, searching. That’s okay.
My fall broke me, my tragedies broke my heart, our shared experience will break us all… unless we choose COMMUNITY!
Tragedy opened my eyes to a love, a grace, a hope I never knew existed… And it’s available to all of us.
