Either you are going to like this blog post OR you are not? You’re either going to see one image below or two? However, maybe there is more to life…
As a writer, that’s the real question I’m faced with even sharing my thoughts here. As a human… might you agree that we each ask ourselves something similarly everyday? Either they love me OR they hate me. Miss me OR have forgotten about me. (and the list of EITHER/ORs goes on an on and on and on….)
However, what if we’ve been asking ourselves the wrong questions, simply because we’ve been living from the dictates of fear. Perhaps Either/Or is not what truly runs our existence… What if it was love actually brought us into the realm of BOTH….And! A place where seeming contradictions are just that… “seeming.”
It “seems” like I’m never going lose that extra-weight around the middle.
It seems like life isn’t fair. Or as Albert Einstein put it…
I believe we can agree that life is not as simple as the cliche’s we make it into. Their are seldom clear “black & white” issues. And, while we may believe there is a “right” and “wrong” way to do things… perhaps it’s really about TRUTH and Peace.
Can you find a Both/And in your life? You both really love to spend time with family and friends AND there are times you need to be alone VS. either you spend all your time with family and friends OR you take time for self-care and always need to be private. The image at the beginning of this post is a either a full head shot of an old lady in a grey hair covering or it is the side shot of a young woman with her head turned to the right (so that we only see her neckline). However, might it be both images and the story of the life lived between them?!?
Life is never as simple as we would like, but today… I am a NEW Creation and I am also broken remnant of my past. Thankfully, I do not choose Either/or… I choose BOTH (for now) And am clear that God is working even now to make me more into His Image.
